Council Wants City to Add UKM Centrals in Seribu Islands

City Council's Commission B encourages City to add more small medium enterprises (UKM) in Seribu Islands.

UKM central also needs to be multiplied to accommodate and market the productions

It is considered necessary to be done since tourist visit is keep increasing.

"Community empowerment is already running. Now UKM central also needs to be multiplied to accommodate and market the productions," stated Darussalam, Commission B Secretary, Sunday (3/4).

He hopes UKM central can accommodate all productions from coached UKMs, both culinary and souvenir products.

"UKM central will boost economy and open job opportunities," he added.

Based on Commission B work visit last week, he informed, there is only one UKM central in Seribu Islands, which is located in Untung Jawa Island.

"We want to encourage UKM central to make its number increased," he said.
